At lunch we re-group, along with the Capers, to decide what we want to do for the afternoon and early evening.  Most of the time that means we'll go back to the cabin and take a nap or go on deck for some fun, but on formal nights it means we need to make plans to get together with everyone later, before dinner,  for photos, drinks, or just a stroll on deck.

When the sun goes down, the entertainment and excitement go up .   The evening period is the hardest one to make choices as to what you want to do, there are just so many things to do.  Be sure to allow some time for some things that are NOT on the list or in the Capers.  Watch a sunset, gather your family or new friends together and pile into your cabin to watch a Pay-Per-View movie, or just find a nice deck rail to lean on and watch the ocean go by

 What to do?

Everyday, the ship's onboard newspaper, is delivered to your cabin.  After dinner, we all gather to preview the next day's activities onboard.  Some we go to, some we skip.  If you're new to all this I'd sure go to the preview talks given before the ship docks at a new port.  You can tell the events that the ship thinks are important because they are always preceeded by a big bingo game.  Since they own the ship and are in the cruise business, its probably a good idea to go hear what they say.

But you don't have to

I take great pride in doing exactly what I want to do. I have a real aversion to being herded around like cattle (we live in Kansas, know about cattle and herding) But you can miss out on some good information and alot of fun by missing all these events.

Take a look at it, maybe even carry one with you, and go do the stuff that sounds like fun.  Or just sit out on deck and watch the ocean roll by.  Its your vacation and when Carnival says thier ships are "the fun ships" they're not kidding.  What they really should say though is that although everyone's idea of fun might be different, there are so many things to do (or not do) on board that it is virtually impossible for anyone not to have fun.  I know that might sound like a big claim to someone who has not cruised Carnival before, but past passengers are knodding thier heads in agreement while reading this
